We were on DIGG! And apparently, Digg is still a thing! Okay, that's kind of a mean thing to say about someone who is giving our new endeavor some publicity, but . . . I honestly didn't know Digg was still around. Thanks, Digg-people!
If you haven't seen it, yet . . . (More after the break!!)
... then please do go check it out. It's the new show I'm doing with Brian, the spiritual successor to Hacking the System, the Modern Rogue. I'm not the dummy on this one! I promise!
Anyway, our hits on that video are coming along quite nicely. Hopefully, we can start loading it up with more episodes soon. I've got a huuuuge list of things that we weren't allowed to put on television.
But I do have one regret about the Whiskey Vapor episode. In the intro and outro, we're talking about drugs from video games. I didn't mention Skooma. I brought shame to the Dojo.
So I've been playing a bit of Battlefront. I'm finally getting to the point where I don't embarrass myself (usually). Sorry I haven't hooked up with you guys on there much at all. Soon? When I'm not grabbing Battlefront matches here and there, I'm playing King's Quest!
Many of you know of my affinity of this long dead franchise. I was obsessed with them growing up, but unfortunately, rarely had a computer that could run them. Now, the Odd Gentlemen have started releasing a remake. Chapter 2 just came out. It's an update that certainly does the original justice. It's an inventory-fueled adventure game with all of the ridiculous humor of the originals. If you have Playstation Plus on the PS4, you can grab Chapter 1 for free during December, if that's your thing.
THE FORCE AWAKENS
I saw it. I really liked it. I have my gripes, but overall, it was a lot of fun. Go see it. I won't say any more.
THE NEW NOVEL
No, not The Black Goat Motorcycle Club. The one after that. It's coming along quite well, I think. 76K words so far? It might be a bit long, so I'm probably going to have to trim some fat. Can't wait for you guys to check it out. I'm trying to get that 1st draft done by the end of the year. If you're part of my mailing list you might be getting an excerpt of it (or something equally cool) soon.
AND NOW, MORE OF YOUR WORK!
Here's the part of the week where we work together to take over the damned world. If you see a link here, consider them part of our community. Go to their Facebook page and give them a 'like'. If you're able, buy their wares. Put some money in their pocket. But most importantly? Boost their signal.
It amazes me how many talented, artistic people I know. I remember, many years ago, when I didn't know any artists to help with a comic book I wanted to write. Now? They're everywhere! And most of them are amazing. (Except for that one guy. That guy sucks.)
JD Rowe and his friends are doing a podcast about animation. It's called the Ink N' Paint Club (Roger Rabbit!). You can check them out HERE.
RYAN TIMOTHY BRACE
Confession time: One night, many years ago, I decided to try my hand at stand-up comedy. Here's what I learned from that crucible that I placed myself in that night:
It was awful. I was awful. But Ryan is trying his hand at it, and he's really good. I hope he keeps it up. I've had the pleasure of hanging out with this guy in person. He's an alright fella. Watch his very first attempt at stand up RIGHT HERE.
Another artist! See! They're everywhere. I'm in awe of how many bad-asses I know. Quinton is one of them. You know how I know? Check out his work here.
You know how else I know he's a bad-ass? Here's a quote from the man himself:
"Most of my freelance stuff has been for local metal bands..."
I post this next one mainly to serve as a cautionary tale. If you don't talk to your kids about Let's Plays or Movie Reviews, who will? I've seen it happen. These demons have claimed many of my closest friends. Alex is both. It's too late for him. Maybe someone should call his parents. Click the image below to see what his iniquity hath wrought!
